A truly stunning 1940's dress! Done in black crepe with rows upon rows of swingy fringe. Thin fringed straps and fitted shape with back slit. Back metal zip. The jacket/bolero is short with no closures. This is lined. Both pieces are heavy and feel substantial and hand sewn.
George Karr was a Hollywood costume designer for the film The Headline Woman in 1935, and went on to create stage costumes for the famous "Queen of Caberet" Julie Wilson, Lorraine Cugat and Mary Meade who all starred at the Mocambo room in Hollywood.
