Collectible late 1940's early 1950's Bonnie Cashin suit!! Done in navy wool light boucle. Jacket has carved silver buttons down the front and has a cutaway /tuxedo fit. Pointed hem with silver buttons detail and cuffs. Mandarin collar. Fully lined in navy rayon crepe. Skirt is slim with side hook and eye, metal zipper and hidden side pockets!
Per the book Bonnie Cashin-Chic is where you find it: "At Carmel Snows' {Harpers Bazaar} request, Louis Adler owner of the prestigious ready to wear firm Adler & Adler, offered Cashin a post as his lead designer, despite the fact that she had no experience in ready to wear. She took over from designer Vera Maxwell"
