Nani Sportswear was one of the largest Honolulu manufacturers of women's wear. The textile designs were printed for the line on their own fabrics. Swedish born designer Mrs. JB "Nani" Robertson created her own textiles and colors were moulded on the fabrics so that they had depth and contour. She says "you don't just make a garment, you construct it." She used a method of construction based on the european standard. She graduated from Stockholm and went to Paris where she learned French dress construction.
