Dramatic 1950's dress from the inimitable Mr. Blackwell! Done in black silk velvet with cape collar. Inside the collar there is a panel of sequins and rhinestones. Slim sheath dress under the cape collar. Vertical boning from the top of bodice to the waist on front and back. Back of the cape collar ends with an open v shape back. Fully lined in black satin.

Mr. Blackwell launched his label in the late 1950's and he dressed a lot of the the Hollywood stars such as Dorothy Lamour, Jayne Mansfield and others. His Custom line was made to order and fitted to a specific client in the couture tradition.
