A truly stunning 1950's Suzy Perette dress! Done in a ice blue silk satin lined in an organza that gives it weight. V neckline that on the interior has a panel. Skirt is stunning with angled pleats that fan out on one side...like a sarong shape! Attached roseetes on the hip. Back metal zip. Back seam on skirt drops to a point and has wide inverted pleats.
One newspaper reported: "The name Suzy Perette vividly suggests a small waisted little minx with a lot of Gallic bounce. The name was thought up by sheer chance at the Sidney Blauners' dinner table in Manhattan. The Blauners, their children and a french governess were talking about the new moderate price dress business. Asked for a typical french name, the governess came up with Suzy and then Pirouette which was switched to Perette."
