RARE 1940s Claire McCardell moth print dress and bolero xxs | novelty print dress

Charming and highly collectible Claire McCardell 1940's dress and matching bolero jacket! Done in a crisp deep merlot cotton printed with yellow moths. Sundress has seashell etched brass buttons down the front, thin straps, fitted waist and slim skirt. Skirt has a few pleats and one larger inverted pleat in back and two POCKETS! Bodice has side boning. Bolero jacket is done in the same print and buttons and is curved in the front. It also has deep folds at the shoulders, a peter pan collar, wide thick cuffs and fitted shape. Both pieces are unlined. Last picture is of the same fabric in the MET Museum. Belt not inlcuded.
